From Naples to Piceno – Coast to Coast tour

The city of Naples rises in the heart of the homonym bay near the Vesuvio, the most famous and active volcano, that buried the ancient Roman city of Pompeii.  Naples has centuries of art history and architecture still to be told. The most interesting historical places are the sumptuous Royal Palace and the Maschio Angioino.

Paestum

An ancient city of Magna Grecia, owes its name to Poseidon, after the conquest by the Lucanians it was called Paistom, to then assume, under the Romans, the name of Paestum.

Caserta

The Reggia has a rectangular plan extending over about 47,000 square meters for a height of 5 floors. An imposing portico creates a connection with the Park and the waterfall. The first floor of the Palace was destined for the Apartments of the Royals of the Bourbon House. The Royal Park inspired by the gardens of the great European residences of the time enclose the Italian tradition of the Renaissance garden with the solutions introduced at Versailles.

San Benedetto del Tronto

It is located along the southern Adriatic coast of the Marche, an important tourist center and fishing port of the Riviera delle Palme. Its origins are still shrouded in mystery. Several finds dating back to Roman times have been found in the Paese Alto (old town)

Ascoli Piceno

Beautiful medieval city in the Marche region, considered among the most monumental in Italy. The travertine, a type of marble, is present in all the Ascoli buildings. The city is rich in towers and bell towers.

Campli

This small village is located in Abruzzo region, rich in tradition, boasts centuries of history, in fact, the origins of this city date back to Roman times, discovered thanks to some archaeological finds.

The Necropolis of Campovalano

over 600 graves and tombs dating from the late Bronze Age to the Roman conquest.

Civitella del Tronto

On the border between Abruzzo and Marche regions, it has very ancient origins. The first document that mentions the city dates back to the 11th century. The Fortress of Civitella del Tronto, situated in a strategic position, is one of the largest and most important military engineering works in Europe

Day 1
Napoli

Arrive at the Naples airport, the driver will welcome you at the airport, panoramic tour with photos of the Posillipo's city. Transfer to the hotel, check in. Walking tour (External) of Maschio Angioino, Galleria Umberto, Piazza del Plebiscito and Royal Palace. Dinner at the restaurant. Overnight.

Day 2
Napoli

Breakfast at the Hotel. Meeting with the local guide and walking tour of the historic center, Gesù nuovo, Santa Chiara, Spaccanapoli, San Gregorio Armeno, Scavi di San Lorenzo. Lunch at the restaurant (menù pizza)

In The afternoon visit of the archaeologic museum (2 hours), San Lorenzo e MANN. Transfer to the hotel. Dinner at the restaurant and overnight.

Day 3
Paestum - Caserta

Breakfast at the Hotel. Meeting with the local guide and transfer to Paestum.

Guided tour of temples and museums ( 2 hours)

Lunch at the restaurant.

Transfer to Caserta, visit of the Reggia di Caserta appartaments ( 1 hour) and its gardens ( optional about 1 hour) Transfer to Naples.

Dinner at the restaurant and overnight.

Day 4
Napoli - San Benedetto del Tronto

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to San Benedetto del Tronto ( about 4 hours with a stop along the trip) Check-in at the hotel. Lunch.

Meeting with the local guide. Walking tour along the dock, open-air museum MAM (in case of rain visit of the Sea Museum). Visit to the ancient part of San Benedetto del Tronto, Paese Alto with its Sea art gallery and Torrione dei Gualtieri.

Transfer to the Hotel. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5
Ascoli Piceno

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Ascoli Piceno (about 15/20 mins)meeting with the local guide and visit of the historic center of Ascoli Piceno.

The city is called the chiamata 100 towers, visit of Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Arringo, Archaeologic museum with the archaeologist who find the remains, Pinacoteca - Musei civici. Lunch at the restaurant, tasting local food and wine products.

A brief stops to Caffè Meletti, you will taste the famous Meletti anice liquor in a place date back to the 1907 in Liberty style.

Transfer to Monsampolo del Tronto ( about 20 mins) Visit of the Crypt Museum – the Monsampolo's mummies.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 6
Campli - Civitella del Tronto (Abruzzo region)

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to Campli, (about 1 hour) visit of the archaeologic museum, Palazzo Farnese, Palazzo del Parlamento, Santa Maria in Platea Church and the beautiful "The Holy Stairs " Scala Santa.

At the end of the visit, transfer to the near city Campovalano, with its amazing necropolis.

A specialized guide will tell you secrets and myster about this wonderful site.

Not far from the necropolis there is a the Saint Peter in Campovalano Church.

Luch at the restaurant.

Then you will discover the wonderful Civitella del Tronto, located on the border between Marche and Abruzzo. Its origins are very ancient. You will visit the fortress, with its weapons museum. Then visit the small villages.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 7
San Benedetto del Tronto - Rome

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport of Rome
